This unique picture book, not only introduces children to the cardinal numbers 1 - 5, but to number sets. It also takes the reader on a journey full of imagery and life lessons. As the sun rises, the rooster wakes up in the morning full of the excitement of the day, full of energy and feeling good...good enough to go “off to SEE THE WORLD!” Shortly into his travels, he feels lonely and invites some companions to join him: 2 cats, 3 frogs, 4 turtles, and 5 fish. They also are moved by the idea of “seeing the world”. However, when the sun goes down and the moon comes out, everyone feels a little different about the adventure. They become hungry and cold and long for the comforts of home. Each group then turns around and goes home leaving the rooster alone again. But he, too, soon realizes that he wants to go home
